About me
Who am I?
My name is Sharon Warthmann-Broderick. I was born and brought up in South Africa and my mother tongue is English. In 1991, after finishing my studies, I moved to Switzerland with the goal of learning Swiss-German for one year. That short-range plan was quickly forgotten however, when "love" came along.
Soon after we married, we moved to Dallas, Texas, where I completed my Bachelor's and was working on my Master's degree in Psychology at Dallas Baptist University, when our first daughter was born. Right before the birth of our second daughter in 2004, we moved back to Switzerland. A few years later, I received my certification from the University of Cambridge to teach English to adults (CELTA) and I founded Learning English at the beginning of 2013.
Our family lives in Uster and we speak English at home.
Teaching is fun and I particularly enjoy giving each student individual attention! I love observing the progress my students make and how their confidence develops as their English improves - that is always my proudest moment and greatest joy!
Our lessons are filled with lively, and at times hilarious discussions and stories - there is never a dull moment!
